Description Piezoelectric materials (PZT) are popular in Electronics both as sensors and as actuators [1, 2]. If they are used as sensors in their linear regime, they can easily allow to determine the force exerted on them by measuring the voltage across their terminals [3]. However, some limitations may occur whenever these devices are used under a spectrum of frequencies of the same order of magnitude of their resonance frequency. Or alternatively, whenever the phenomenon to be measured is smaller than their response time. Or even when they are subjected to pressures that are no longer compatible with the linear response [4]. The thesis goal is first to understand the fundamentals of piezoelectricity and then to analyse the behaviour of these materials beyond linearity.

The work will be organised as follow:
• Literature review.
• Definition of the tests to be performed under nonlinearity.
• Results characterisation.
