Descrizione The objective of this Master Thesis is to design and model a complex Orbiting Space System capable of absorbing and transferring solar energy to the Earth in order to make it self-sufficient. This system, called the SA-X (Solar Absorber - X) system, is made of several "rings" orbiting around the Earth.
These rings are made up of systems of panels of appropriately chosen material (i.e. Vantablack based), plus an energy receiver and transmitter which trasfers via laser or radio waves the energy towards the earth.

The objective is to thermally model, implement and simulate (i.e. Ansys) this orbiting system, sizing the space system and the earth receiver system, in order to understand the potential and limits of this technology.

A feasibility study in terms of Time and Materials required to implement this technology concludes the thesis.

Conoscenze richieste Hard Skills required: mathematical modeling, dynamic and thermal modeling, knowledge of software to thermally simulate a system (Ansys preferable), excellent knowledge of MatLAB, knowledge of orbiting space systems.

Soft skills required: dedication, perseverance, consistency, ability to think out of the box.
