Descrizione The thesis aims at developing a modeling workflow that applies lumped tooth forces (LTF) to a multi-body model in the view of time-domain e-powertrain NVH analysis, i.e. through the use of state space formulation in combination with vibration synthesis, and with rotor and bearing models as well; and at constructing the corresponding back-to-back e-motor bench setup by ensuring its operational safety.

THESIS CONTENT
Literature study e-motor, model order reduction and state-space modelling
Learning NVH modelling using SISW software and internal tools
Comparison of structural vibration results between state-space and vibration synthesis
Application of LTF to a multi-body model
Inclusion of resultant mount forces
Rotor/stator and bearing modelling in state-space formulation
Planning for eBench construction requirements
Ensuring safety of the eBench, and design of safe operational scenarios
Correlation and model updating
Combination of time-domain model with experimental setup behavior
Thesis activity will include literature study, advanced use of simulation software, analysis of simulation data, and programming.
Note: based on the status of work at the start of the student stay given ongoing activities at SISW, the thesis topic may be reoriented. Also, the student will work collaboratively with junior/senior researchers to accelerate the delivery of results.
