Description This thesis deals with the deterioration of existing transportation infrastructure and it is developed between Politecnico di Torino and Rutgers University (NJ-USA). More specifically, the collaboration is intended to employ the BEAST laboratory infrastructure of the Center for Advanced Infrastructure and Transportation. At this federal facility it will also be possible to spend a perid of research during the joint activities. The aim is to study the most efficient solutions to estimate the condition of bridge elements to optimize the maintenance and preservation of the infrastructure.
