Description The thesis is in the framework of the "Advanced Functionalized Electrospun Membranes for water treatment - AFEM" project, funded by the Unite! Seed Fund Initiative. Nanofibrous rubber membranes will be manufactured using a green electrospinning process, and micro/nanoparticles such as modified TiO2 and graphene oxide will be integrated into the polymer structure to provide photocatalytic and antifouling properties. A new technology for the design of multifunctional membranes for micropollutants removal during filtration processes will thus be proposed.
The thesis will be conducted in collaboration with TU Darmstadt, and paied short-term secondments to Darmstadt are planned to get training and conduct experiments in the laboratories of the project partner university.
