Study of 3D colorectal tumors for combined anti-tumor therapy with nanoparticles

keywords 3D MODELS, NANOPARTICLES, TUMOR

Reference persons VALENTINA ALICE CAUDA

Research Groups AA - Materials and Processes for Micro and Nano Technologies

Thesis type EXPERIMENTAL

Description The thesis proposes an experimental activity in the laboratory in which gods will be cultivated
3D colorectal tumoroids that overexpress specific tumor markers and on which formulations of biomimetic nanoparticles with targeting peptides and activated with ultrasound stimuli will be tested. The thesis will aim to evaluate the concentration and extent of the stimulus delivered to produce a consistent death of the tumoroid and measure it with fluorometric methods, fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry and other colorimetric assays. The TNHlab and access to the interdepartmental laboratory BIOMED LAB will be made available to the candidate, the possibility of learning and independently carrying out the synthesis of the aforementioned nanoparticles and stimulation with ultrasound from different biomedical transducers and tests of the different treatments.

Required skills Biomedical engineering, nanobiotechnologies
foundation of biology
