Characterization of the severity of Italian extreme precipitation events
Reference persons PIERLUIGI CLAPS, PAOLA MAZZOGLIO
Description The candidate will be in charge of the identification of metrics for assessing the severity of an extreme precipitation event. These metrics will be applied to a database of rainfall extremes with time coverage of about 100 years to realize a ranking of the most intense events as a function of local conditions.
Required skills Basic knowledge of at least one programming language (preferably Matlab, possibly also R or Python) and GIS software (QGIS or ArcMap).
