Investigation of the seasonality of rainfall extremes on a global scale

Description The candidate will undertake the analysis of precipitation datasets with global coverage for the analysis of the seasonality of precipitation extremes and the study of possible temporal variations in seasonality. The goal of this work is to understand whether precipitation extremes tend to occur during specific seasons and whether this seasonality is changing due to climate change. The use of multiple datasets will allow the evaluation of similarities and differences between outputs.
Required skills Knowledge of at least one programming language (preferably Matlab, possibly also R or Python), propensity to handle large data sets.
