Wind Turbine Failure Detection

Reference persons BARTOLOMEO MONTRUCCHIO

Description  Wind turbines are complex objects. Inside them are SCADA systems used to monitor the operating status of each component and environmental data. Therefore, the thesis aims to use such data and machine learning techniques to detect faults that can occur in different parts of wind turbines, such as the generator and the gearbox. It is also of particular interest to evaluate how the vibrations induced by the rotation of the blades can possibly be used as an input variable of the system to be created.
The thesis will take place at the Sirius s.r.l. company, located in via Frejus 106, Turin (https://www.sirius.to.it/). Basic knowledge of Python and machine learning is required.
