Description The European Commission has included textiles among the priority products of the EC (European Environment Agency, 2020) in its ‘Circular Economy Action Plan’, which envisages an EU strategy for sustainable textiles in a circular economy, with the aim of creating markets for sustainable and circular textile products, services and business models. Although there is now more and more talk at various levels of eco-design as a strategic asset to reduce the environmental impact of the textile and fashion sector, and the European Commission is focusing part of its expectations precisely on this new approach, there are still no concrete examples applied to the textile and fashion sector, not even for those productions with less added value in terms of aesthetic design. The study proposes measures based on sustainability indices to assess the level of circularity of interventions in terms of energy saved, CO2, time, recoverable and non-recoverable materials, etc., also with reference to the possible disassembly of products.
