Thesis type SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT

Description The current project aims to leverage the capabilities of OpenAI - ChatGPT to develop geometric and structural design solutions in the VPL environment. Based on the results of a previously conducted survey, the student will investigate methods to automate code injection in the VPL environment, which will generate various parametric design solutions.
The expected outcomes of this phase mainly revolve around the exploration of geometric properties in structural entities. Considering the expected results in the first phase, the next phase will involve the integration of structural optimization (SO) techniques in the same environment to capitalize on the capabilities of AI.

Required skills Programming skills in Python or C# (C# preferred). Individuals with an interest in exploring programming techniques and engaging in experimentation within the generative design domain are encouraged to apply.

Notes Premature requests for thesis closure will not be considered. It is important to note that experimental and research theses necessitate longer deadlines compared to compilation-type theses.
Possibility to develop the thesis abroad in collaboration with the National Technical University of Athens (School of Civil Engineering).
