Description This thesis aims to explore the historical interplay between natural hazards, specifically floods, and the evolution of urban landscapes. as well as the role of hazards on the management of historic urban landscapes. By examining case studies of urbanized landscapes, the research investigates how disasters have influenced the planning, governance, and management of these landscapes over time. The study will analyze both the challenges posed by water abundance as well as its secondary impacts like the scarcity of clean water, emphasizing the long-term impact on human-environment interactions. The research will include digital methodologies, data collection, creation, analysis, cleaning, and visualization. Moreover, an archival research is fundamental to understand the overall impact of floodings. The goal is to contribute to a deeper understanding of the adaptive governance of historic urban landscapes.
