Description The thesis activity concerns the design and implementation of a system for the centralized management and control of a wireless sensor network. In particular, the development of a “Graphical User Interface” (GUI) is required to provide an intuitive and “user-friendly” interface for configuring, monitoring and administrating the sensor network nodes, allowing users to view the status of the network and nodes, manage individual sensors and add new nodes and gateways dynamically. It will be necessary to represent the status of the connections in real time and offer the possibility of storing the collected data in SQL databases.
One of the main goal consists in an effective management of the sensor network, thus facilitating the user interaction with the distributed sensor infrastructure, even in remote contexts, thanks to the web-based control and monitoring. The thesis will explore the graphical design of the GUI, the integration with web servers and databases to store useful information and the basic use of back-end languages to generate dynamic content, manage Big-Data and process statistics.

Required skills Front-end languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and graphics libraries (D3.js, p5.js, or similar), database integration, Python language for the back-end.
Aptitude for teamwork, initiative and problem-solving.
