Descrizione This MSc thesis aims to explore how the dielectric properties of water change when confined within zeolite nanopores, focusing on applications in thermal energy storage and desalination. Water's behavior at the nanoscale is significantly different from bulk water, and understanding these changes is crucial for optimizing materials like zeolites for energy and water treatment systems.
The project will involve conducting Molecular Dynamics (MD) simulations to model water confined in various zeolite structures, analyzing how pore size, geometry, and surface properties affect its dielectric response. This research will be complemented by an internship at INRIM (Istituto Nazionale di Ricerca Metrologica), where experimental dielectric measurements will validate the simulation findings.
