Description The thesis is in the framework of the "Advanced Functionalized Electrospun Membranes for water treatment - AFEM" project, funded by the Unite! Seed Fund Initiative. Nanofibrous rubber membranes will be manufactured using a green electrospinning process, and micro/nanoparticles such as modified TiO2 and graphene oxide will be integrated into the polymer structure to provide photocatalytic and antifouling properties. A new technology for the design of multifunctional membranes for micropollutants removal during filtration processes will thus be proposed.
The thesis will be conducted in collaboration with TU Darmstadt, and short-term secondments to Darmstadt are planned to get training and conduct experiments in the laboratories of the project partner university.
