Description This thesis focuses on the development and testing of a micro-heat pump system that uses a natural refrigerant, R290 (propane), combined with a phase change material (PCM) condenser. The project explores integrating this eco-friendly system into personal cooling devices, aiming to improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact in localized cooling applications. Through experimental analysis, the thesis evaluates the micro-heat pump's performance, cooling capacity, and operational stability, providing insights into its feasibility for small-scale applications and personal comfort.

Primarily experimental lab-based activity, coordinated with an industry partner. Opportunity for a similar thesis abroad, with the possibility of combining a lab internship on the topic (6 ECTS) as a substitute for coursework credits, in addition to a lab-based thesis.
