Description The work deals with the design of an HydroThermal Processing unit, downscaling the current Hydrothermal Liquefaction Unit available at RE-CORD from 200 bar/370°C to 20 bar/180-200 °C. Also, the plant will be designed to operate as predryer to a slow pyrilysis unit for the production of biochar. Lab experiments, in addition to design work, is foreseen at the RE-CORD laboratory and workshop (located at Scarperia and San Piero, Province of Florence)
Required skills Knowledge on bomass conversion processes is appreciated, but not mandatory
