Thesis type THEORETICAL AND EXPERIMENTAL
Description The thesis concerns the study of the static, dynamic and unstable behavior of innovative materials for aerospace applications.
The theoretical analysis makes use of finite element numerical modeling tools and analytical methods.
The experimental analysis is based on the use of basic and advanced techniques for the characterization of static properties in the presence of anisotropy, variable parameters of the manufacturing processes, nonlinearity.
Furthermore, in the dynamic field, the analysis is based on measurement of the frequency response, evaluation of damage and defect propagation, and analysis of fatigue behavior.
The materials under investigation include one or more types among long fiber composites, metals, technopolymers. Innovative manufacturing processes are included, including multi-material co-curing, powder bed investment casting, filament deposition and others.
