Thesis type MODELING AND SIMULATION
Description The thesis concerns the simulation of the static and dynamic behavior of primary and secondary flight structures in the aeronautic sector.
The activity may be extended to components specifically intended for the management of fluids in variable speed, pressure and temperature conditions, including heat exchangers with cellular geometry.
The preliminary activity concerns the definition of characteristics and limits of the models, setting of the variable simulation parameters, planning of the calculation matrix.
Properties of materials and fluids will be obtained from real production/management processes also by interacting with industrial partners.
In the case of developing efficient design solutions compared to the state of the art, it will be possible to proceed with the creation of a physical prototype.
Required skills Basics of numerical modeling (the knowledge of a FEM software is useful but not essential)
Fundamentals of structural mechanics
Fundamentals of fluidodynamics
Basics of aeronautic structures (optional)
