Description Demyelinating neuropathies are rare disorders in which myelin, which is essential to ensure rapid and efficient nerve transmission, is compromised. Patients show a slowing or blockage of action potentials along nerves. This results in muscle weakness, loss of reflexes and sensory changes, varying depending on the nerves involved. Early recognition of this phenomenon is crucial, as it can direct the diagnosis toward a treatable condition and significantly improve patient outcomes.
In this thesis, data from a multi-center study will be processed and an innovative method for characterizing neuronal damage will be tested.
Required skills Matlab programming. Signal processing.
