Rock fall risk mitigation in historically and culturally significant settlements
Reference persons MARINA PIRULLI
Thesis type NUMERICAL AND DESIGN ORIENTED
Description Rockfalls rank among the most hazardous natural phenomena in mountainous regions, with their frequency increasingly influenced by ongoing climate change. These events pose significant risks to residential areas, transport corridors, and, as demonstrated in the present study, historical settlements. Some of these settlements, which form an integral part of our cultural heritage and attract substantial numbers of tourists annually, can be particularly vulnerable to the impacts of rockfalls.
