Descrizione Longitudinal Power Monitoring is a recently proposed technique that allows the estimation of the power evolution of an optical transmission across the network, using only information available at the receiver DSP. The goal of this thesis is to improve this technique and apply it to simulative and experimental scenarios to give useful information to the network operator.
