Thesis type IMPLEMENTATION

Description Inter-vehicular networks allow both vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure communications. Infrastructures may be located along a road to provide road safety or entertainment services. The goal of this theses is to develop applications for the delivery of information from the infrastructure to the moving vehicle, and viceversa, as well as for information exchange between vehicles. Applications will run on laptops, embedded systems and smart phones (or on a subset of them).

In this context, the implementation work will focus on the following issues:
* Design of a framework for information dissemination and information exchange based on the Publish&Subscribe paradigm
* Development of software components in distributed environments.
* Integration of inputs from external sources (GPS, car monitoring system...).
* Testing of the application in a real vehicular testbed

Required skills Some knowledge of wireless networks and good/advanced skills in C/C# programming. Working knowledge of the Linux OS and of OpenWRT are a plus.
