Description Public bus transportation systems can be exploited to build a wireless backbone in a metropolitan area, without the need of accessing the cellular network. The idea is to exploit the mobility of buses to carry the information physically from one location to another, but at the expenses of some delay that is acceptable for many nowadays applications.
This work aims to generate realistic bus traces, derived from the Google Transit information available for many town in the world, and exploiting SUMO (Simulation of Urban MObility) simulator
Required skills The student is expected to have excellent programming skills in C/C++ or Java, and a good knowledge of Unix/Linux.
