Descrizione This work is in cooperation with important companies like CISCO Photonics and within European research projects such as EUROFOS and BONE.
It is both theoretical and experimental. For the latest record-breaking results obtained by the OptCom group see www.optcom.polito.it
The thesis work would be focused on upgrades to the experimental testbed implementing Tb/s per channel transmission at multi-thousand km distance. Theoretical work is involved, to support the experiment. Travel and stays at partner laboratories in Europe is possible (but not mandatory).

Conoscenze richieste The thesis work requires good knowledge of the foundations of digital transmission and optical fiber transmission. This thesis is demanding and only highly-motivated students with very good proficiency and grades, willing to take this opportunity to obtain substantial cultural and personal growth, are advised to apply.
