Description Roll-cladding of foamable precursor materials with conventional face sheets and subsequent foaming. Optimization of the heat treatment to achieve optimum performance of face sheets and core,
and of the sandwich as a whole. The evaluation of the structure performance will be by metallography (IFAM, Bremen), static tests (ISIS, Bremen) and impact tests (Politecnico di Torino).
Notes Most activities will be performed in Bremen, Germany within ISIS (Sensorial Materials Scientific Centre, Integrated Solutions in Sensorial Structure Engineering, University of Bremen) and IFAM (Material Science Institute of the Fraunhofer Network) under the supervision of Dr.-Ing. Dirk Lehmhus
