Thesis type EXPERIMENTAL AND THEORETICAL

Description Rainfall estimation obtained by radarmeteorological system is based on the observation of the electromagnetic signal backscattered by big atmospheric volumes, often placed at a certain height from the surface. Numerical Weather Prediction models are able to evaluate the same quantities considering advanced dynamical atmospheric models. Both techniques can be validated considering rainfall measurements carried on by raingauges from the surface. The Thesis will quantitatively compare such observations, considering several meterological situations. The Thesis will be developed n collaboration with Univerità di Torino, Dipartimento di Fisica Generale.
