Description Devices for gestures recognition are definitely one the most interesting technological solutions and will bring added value to the user experience optimization.
This technology is used in several professional fields and in the last years has been used in the mass market, and in particular in the videogames console market with the aim of increase the Human-Machine Interaction during gameplay turning the human body into a living controller. This because of its head, arms, hands and legs recognition capabilities. Analysts' forecasts give attention to this technology, assuming its use beyond videogaming (i.e. integration with SmartTV with aim to provide new modalities to the user for purchase management).
The thesis proposed by ISMB in collaboration with Microsoft Innovation Center, Turin has the objective of studying the Microsoft Kinect device operative modalities for the optimization and the management of a PC or set-of-box embedded, with the aim of developing an application, able to show Kinect capabilities.
Required skills - English proficiency
- Good knowledge of the Microsoft development toolchain and Visual Studio 2010
- Good knowledge of the .NET development with C#
- Knowledge of XNA graphic engine and C++ language is a plus
Notes DURATION OF THE THESIS: 6-9 months
The thesis will be developed in collaboration with Microsoft Innovation Center.
