Thesis type COLLABORATION WITH A COMPANY
Description The thesis activity is oriented to the study and evaluation of fault tolerance design techniques (i.e.; errors detection and corrections and redundancy) on eTPU devices used in automotive applications. The work is oriented on their experimental implementation and evaluation of their robustness to fault injection induced errors and radiation induced errors using neutron particles. The activity is performed in collaboration with General Motors (GM). It is expected the execution of a radiation test experiments at the ISIS facility in UK during the month of December 2013. The student will have the availability of an eTPU board with a Freescale device and will use the state-of-the-art development environment adopted by GM for engine control applications.
It is requested a good software engineering knowledge and in particular on the C/C++ and ASM languages.
Required skills C ASM
Notes A scholarship will be offered to the student/s working on the present thesis activity.
