Description This project is aimed at reviewing the available methodologies assessed to design against fatigue threaded fasteners for combustion engine components, even in presence of thermomechanical effects. This work will develop a suitable model of the analysed system and the fatigue life prediction. Some experiments at the Industrial partner of Politecnico di Torino are even foreseen. Student will perform a trade-off among solutions by means of analytical approaches, FEM and codes dedicated to fatigue analysis.
