Thesis type NUMERICAL AND EXPERIMENTAL
Description A simulation tool able to take into account the torsional dynamics an hybrid driveline is needed to optimise performances, fuel consumption and driving comfort.
The objectives of the present project are to:
1) Study hybrid powertrain dynamics by means of simplified, yet reliable models with the aim of developing a parametric design tool, avoiding the complexities related to more complex multibody dynamics models.
2) Experimentally validate the simulation approach.
Analyse different driveline components and micro/mild hybrid architecture and assess their benefits in terms of driveability and fuel consumption, controlling the driveline dynamics.
