Description The activity includes theoretical and experimental investigations with the purpose of selecting suitable models for predictions of the behaviour of matter transport in mesoscopic devices and in highly confined conditions. Small and large particles are considered, such as ions, proteins and cells (prokaryotes and eucaryotes). Experimental techniques include impedenziometric methods, for the indirect mesurement of diffusion of conducting species, as well as direct counting of cells via citofluorimetric analysis in microfuidic systems.
