Description In the context of Smart City, the thesis aims to integrate, through web services and middleware technologies, heterogeneous systems within a distributed infrastructure. The activities will focus on the integration of different databases able to catalogue: (i) geo-referenced information (GIS - Geographic Information System); (ii) structural information about buildings in the city (BIM - Building Information Modelling); (iii) environmental data from sensors deployed in the city; (iv) feedbacks from users. The software solution will facilitate the integration of information and the exchange of them through Web Services, which will then be invoked by applications for simulation and visualization. The thesis is part of the DIMMER European project (http://dimmer.polito.it).
