Thesis type MASTER THESIS, MODELING AND EXPERIMENTAL, SIMULATION
Description The objective of the thesis work is to validate different models aimed at simulating the forced response of turbine blades for aeronautical applications. The peculiarity of such models is the possibility to take into account the nonlinearities due to joints between the components that dissipate energy through friction sliding. For this reason joints can be optimized as passive dampers. Simulations will be compared with experimental measurements already available.
Required skills Multiple degrees of freedon structural dynamics, modal analysis, basics of FEM, basics of numerical methods (e.g., Newton Raphson)
