Description In the context of the research activities of the Internet Media Group, we are looking for a master thesis student with strong interests video quality related issues, which are expected to become more and more important given the increase of videos available the web. In this work, the student is expected to implement and test the performance of a few algorithms proposed and fully described by standardization bodies such as ITU or in research papers, and make simple test comparisons on a small set of test video sequences with other, already implemented, widely used metrics such as PSNR. At the end of the research work the implementations will be made available to the research community. This will constitute a tangible asset in the curriculum of the student after graduation.
Required skills Good programming skills (C or C++ or Matlab)
Good ability to interpret and implement mathematical formulas
