Descrizione Freezing method, drying and formulation had a significant impact on numerous properties of the dried powders of pharmaceutics such as particle morphology, surface composition, specific surface area, and protein activity and degradation. In this framework, this study aims to investigate the impact of the Vacuum Induced Nucleation on these properties upon a formulation containing the human growth hormone. Such a technique has the proven ability to reduce drying time while increasing the batch homogeneity, which makes the method worthy of use. As known from literature, a typical problem of human growth hormone concerns its accumulation at product surface, which can be prevented with a correct excipient selection to be determined. The potential of the method will be proved on freeze-drying of this pharmaceutical product and subsequent analysis on the obtained cake.
