Description A very important step of seismic exploration processing on land is static corrections. For this a velocity model of the weathering layer is required. Polito Geophysics team has recently implemented a novel approach to estimate both P- and S-wave models from groundroll analysis. This approach has attracted the interest of industry and test on industrial dataset will be performed soon in cooperation with industry research groups (TOTAL and Schlumberger). Some theses have already been successfully performed on this topic with accepted publications. New test need to be performed to validate and improve the method.
Required skills Geophysics, basic of Matlab.
