Descrizione The thesis concerns on the development of an electromagnetic design tool for PM electrical machines design based on analytical electrical machine sizing equations. In particular, starting from the required performance and the materials characteristics, the tool will have to provide the lamination geometry dimensions and the main machine features. The design code will be implemented in a structured Matlab code.
The thesis activity will enclose the developed tool validation based on real case study machines with the support of FEM (Finite Element Method) commercial software.
During the thesis the student will have the opportunity to apply to real design cases the knowledge learned in the Electrical engineering courses as well as to acquire the skills on the use of design software used in the R&D department of the major companies in this field.
