Descrizione The activity concerns on the electromagnetic design of a high performance permanent magnet electrical machine for hybrid powertrain. In particular, the designed PM machine has to accomplish the provided systems requirements both in terms of required performance and weight constraints.
The work will address the preliminary electromagnetic design using analytical tools based on the electrical machines sizing equations and the design validation using a FEM (Finite Element Method) commercial software.
During the thesis the student will have the opportunity to apply to a real design case the knowledge learned in the Electrical engineering courses as well as to acquire the skills on the use of design software used in the R&D department of the major companies in this field.
