Description n recent years, the use OF technologies and materials based on the imitation of biological systems "Biomimetics" is becoming more and more predominant in engineering. The term "Biomimetics" can be defined as the practice of ideas and concepts of "reverse engineering" obtained from the observation of nature and its implementation in the field of technology. The various technological research already have potential engineering applications in various fields: medicine, information technology, defense, space. In the space sector, the new frontier research aims to consider the "Biomimetics" as an engineering tool to be applied to future space missions and the studies are directed not so much as a mere imitation of biological systems, but rather are aimed at understanding the fundamental processes and the mechanisms used in nature in order to discover the promising engineering concepts for applications in the space sector. As part of a technology research of the Thermal Control Design Unit of the Competence Center Platform and Integration of Thales Alenia Space Italy, a thesis to be performed at the Thales Alenia Space in Turin in collaboration with the Department of Applied Science and Technology of the Polytechnic of Turin.
