Description The National Deposit is the surface where the environmental infrastructure will be made safe radioactive waste produced in Italy, generated by exercise and by the dismantling of the power plants and nuclear facilities, the nuclear medicine, industrial and research.
The National Deposit will be made up of the facilities for the final fittings of low and medium level radioactive waste and those for the temporary storage of high-activity radioactive waste, which will be subsequently transferred to a deep geological repository, appropriate to their definitive arrangement
