Description The thesis deals with the management of prototype productions of a large manufacturing company to effectively respond to the needs of product design and product development and to react to unforeseen events, too.
In particular, reference will be made to the monitoring and planning of small prototype ballast production activities for the automotive sector.
The study focuses on the following factors:
1. Procurement of Raw Materials and Components for Prototype Assembly, based on the designs and indications provided by the Engineering Division;
2. Scheduling of internal and external mechanical machining;
3. Scheduling of assembly activities and related tests;
4. Scheduling Prototype Dispatching Tasks to Applicants.
Work Plan and Objectives:
a) Analysis of the current process
b) Development and improvement of the existing planning and scheduling system
(c) Improving the current production tracking system
The work will take place at SKF plant.
