Description After a preliminary introduction of the Systems Engineering as a methodology for the product life cycle development and of the Smart and Lean Manufacturing, respectively, within the process control and as an evolution of technology, nowadays several industrial manufacturers (railways systems, aerospace, steelmaking, aytomotive) are looking for a practical synthesis of those approaches to assess a simple and effective practice. This thesis is aimed at performing this activity on a test case,together with several I dust rial partners, and to teach the student the practice of design management.
