Description MSc thesis with curricular internship in IVECO-CNH Torino, via Puglia
Starting from the model of tire in existing Ftire format and characterized by an external laboratory
1. Use it on an IVECO Stralis tractor to check its response on the main IVECO fatigue profiles (available in CRG format) for the Heavy Commercial Vehicles (HCV) range
2. Compare the response of forces to the wheel hubs and accelerations on the vehicle (hubs and frame) with experimental results acquired through accelerometers and wheels equipped with dynamometers.
3. Identify the parameters that most influence the results of the simulation and, if necessary, proceed to tune the parameters of the tire to catch the experimental measurements in the best possible way.
The identification of the characteristics to be included in a multi-contact MSC tire model is also required in order to:
• Check the goodness of the results of simplified models
• Check the simplicity of use and the computational cost
• Identify the parameter set that most closely matches the results of the detailed ftire model
Required skills • MSC.ADAMS-CAR
• Basic knowledge of signal processing
• Basic knowledge of tires and their characteristics/properties.
