Description The correct simulation of the mechanical behaviour of automotive joints, especially between parts of different materials in a car body, is an increasing need in design. During this work, to be carried out mainly in an industrial environment, it is required to model by finite elements some significant car body joints and validate the results by comparison with available experimental data.
Required skills Basic knowledge on finite element method (FEM), stress analysis, strength of materials.
