Thesis type SIMULATION AND DESIGN
Description Recently our research group collected data about the usage of different Free Floating Car Sharing (FFCS) system providers. Thanks to these data, we extracted information about actual users’ driving patterns and studied different policies when designing car sharing for future mobility, e.g., with electric cars. We implemented a trace driven simulator to replay collected users’ trips and simulate system for different design parameters. It is fundamental to study new scenarios and implement fast and accurate models to optimize the system.
This thesis lies within this project and has the goal to exploit the collected data to:
- Analyze the collected traces, characterizing the service demand in several cities
- Extract meaningful traffic matrices
- Create a generative non-stationary model for reproducing the movements within different cities
- Analyze the impact on the system of different traffic demands
Required skills Capacità di programmazione (linguaggi di alto livello come Python e Matlab)

Notes La tesi si svolgerà nell'ambito del centro interdipartimentale SmartData@PoliTO che si focalizza su data science e big data
