Description An emerging, relevant issue in the positioning filed is the need to determine and prove the location of people or events through mechanisms that do not rely on GPS. Indeed, GPS may fail in urban environments and may be subject to security attacks.
The thesis aims at exploring different technologies that have been proposed for obtaining the so-called "proof of location", i.e., consensus on whether an event or agent is verifiable at a certain point in time and space. The study involves the use of blockchain as well as of new radio interfaces such as LoRa.
