Thesis type SPERIMENTALE
Description The thesis will be held at the University of Leeds for at least 4 months and will focus on the analysis of numerical and experimental behaviour of masonry elements (piers, spandrels) and / or historical masonry components (columns, arches) subject to vertical and seismic loads. The student is required to perform discrete finite element modeling, aimed at defining optimal modelling protocols and / or experimental shake table tests of scale specimens associated with theoretical interpretations.
Required skills solid mechanics, structural engineering
