Description In this project, starting from a limited number of thermodynamic (room temperature)2 and kinetic (only for the first hydrolysis step)5–7 studies available in the literature we aim to build up a quantitative database for this system using in- situ UV-vis spectroscopy, coupled with pH and potential measurements. Carefully performed constant-temperature, stepwise pH-perturbation experiments will provide the necessary data for further theoretical analysis (possibly chemometric analysis along with kinetic modeling) in order to extract the molar extinction spectra of the relevant species, as well as different thermodynamic and kinetic quantities.

Notes The work will be developed in collaboration with an enterprise located in Switzerland and that will have the final decision to accept or not a specific candidate.
