Description The aim of this thesis is to prepare cement-based materials containing conductive fibers (carbon or metal), in order to obtain self-sensing cement-based composites. The work consists first in the functionalization of the fibers and in their dispersion in cement-based matrix, in order to obtain composite with good electrical conductivity. The electrical and mechanical characterization follows, in order to evaluate mechanical properties, electrical conductivity and piezoresistive properties of the obtained material.
